The institutes within the Faculty of Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology conduct cutting-edge research across a broad spectrum, including electrical engineering, information processing, artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. The theory and application of autonomous systems play a central role across these domains. The successful candidate will be expected to provide pioneering contributions in this context and significantly shape the faculty’s research profile.

We are looking for a scholar with proven academic qualifications in the relevant fields. Leadership experience in scientific or industrial research and development is desirable, as is experience with the transfer of research into practice through partnerships with industry partners.
The position requires a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration to complement and expand the faculty’s expertise. This includes the initiation, acquisition and execution of joint research projects both within and beyond the faculty.
Applicants must demonstrate a successful track record in acquiring third-party research funding. Active participation in academic self-governance and a high level of dedication to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels - in both German and English - are expected. A key responsibility will be the further development of the faculty’s study programs in the direction of “Autonomous Systems”.
