We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a distinguished international track record in the field of software engineering to strengthen the area of practical computer science at Ulm University with respect to research and teaching. The successful candidate is internationally recognized for research on the foundations and methods of software engineering complementing existing research expertise at Ulm University, e.g., in the areas of Secure Software Systems, Software Engineering for Intelligent Systems, Quantum Software Engineering and other topics. We expect a strong track record in the acquisition of research funding and the implementation of research collaborations, enabling future large-scale research projects. The successful candidate will propose a research program that strengthens and complements the current interdisciplinary research activities in the institute, the faculty and the university as a whole, with special emphasis given to intelligent, technical systems.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for teaching to strengthen our teaching portfolio for our software engineering B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the other study programs in computer science. Basic-level instruction is offered in German while advanced courses may be taught in English. We expect strong teaching skills, documented, for example, by excellent teaching evaluations or continued educational training. Active participation in the faculty’s self-administration is expected.

Employment requirements are completed university studies as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG).
