For the Institut of Neural Information Processing we are looking for an

Akademische*n Rätin*Rat , A13 (m/f/d)

Your profile:

• Excellent PhD, preferably in the field of Mathematics or Physics
• Master’s degree, preferably in the field of Mathematics or Physics
• In-depth expertise in Information Theory and Machine Learning
• Extensive experience and proven track record in university-level teaching within the field of Machine Learning
• Software Proficiency: Windows, MS Office, Linux, TYPO3, LaTeX, MLflow, Python (especially PyTorch), and JavaScript
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• At least three years of experience in research and teaching
• Eligibility for appointment as a civil servant (Akademischer Rat/Rätin) according to the relevant legal and personal requirements

Your responsibilities:

• Teaching load of 9 contact hours per week (SWS) in the fields of Computer Science and Learning and Cognitive Systems
• Supervision and mentoring of tutors, Master’s students, and PhD candidates
• Research in the field of Machine Learning
• Administrative duties and interdisciplinary tasks, particularly in the coordination of teaching activities
• Support and active participation in academic self-governance
