initially limited to 36 months, with the possibility of long-term extension.
Background: The new Ecosystem Research Group (Prof. Dr Emma Sayer) in the Institute of Botany investigates the mechanistic basis for ecosystem responses to global change. We study interactions between plants and soil processes by integrating methods from botany, ecology, soil science, and biogeochemistry. We conduct both large-scale field studies and detailed laboratory experiments. Current projects include research into carbon storage and greenhouse gases in tropical forests and climate change impacts in temperate forests and grasslands.
