The University is seeking to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching and particularly encourage qualified female scientists to apply for this position. Severely disabled applicants with equal aptitude will be given preferential consideration.

The call is aimed at internationally visible scholars with a focus on neuropsychological diagnostics and psychotherapy. It will be newly established as part of the introduction of the Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the site.

In teaching, the subject of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy should be represented in its full breadth in coordination with other faculty members, with a focus on university-level teaching according to § 8 of the licensing regulations for psychotherapists (PsychThApprO) within the study programs MSc Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and BSc Psychology. Demonstrably high-quality teaching experience is expected. A license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist is required; additional qualifications in neuropsychology are desirable. Leadership skills to build and lead a successful team as well as active engagement in the further development of the psychology programs and related academic self-governance are essential.

In research, an internationally recognized research profile with a thematic focus on neuropsychological diagnostics and psychotherapy is expected, evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Experience in the successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding is required. Participation in larger collaborative research initiatives within the department is expressly desired.

The professorship should align with strategic development areas of Ulm University, such as Life-long Health, Human-Technology Interaction, and Data Science. There are numerous opportunities for cooperation within the university, particularly with other departments of the same faculty and the Faculty of Medicine, the German Health Research Centers located on campus, the Boehringer Ingelheim – Ulm University Biocenter (BIU), and the Transfer Center for Digitalization, Analytics & Data Science Ulm (DASU).

Employment requirements are completed university studies as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG).
